On 6th November 2008, the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) appointed CLS to provide the European LRIT Data Center (DC) and the associated Application Service Provider (ASP) services. CLS will be supported by THALES for the operation of the DC.

The European LRIT Data Centre will be one of the largest LRIT DC with around 10,000 ships and is a major contribution to the EMSA mission to ensure the highest level of maritime safety, security and environmental protection around the European coasts. The EU LRIT DC is managed by EMSA on behalf of all the EU Member States, plus Iceland and Norway.
